40,274,300 men live in Germany – according to statistics. Many of them are fathers, every one of them a son. What links them – what divides them? And what makes all of this so unique? The documentary BUDDIES, GUYS, COMPETITORS (original title: KUMPEL, KERLE, KONKURRENTEN) observes three fathers and their sons during everyday life: among minor arguments and hostilities, but also in moments of happiness and deeply bonded unity.
